They never fail to make me smile!

This evening I came home to my husband super excited, he just had show me what our baby dog [Tyrone] did while I was at work today!

And here it is...  [Part 1]

And [Part 2] is even better than [Part 1]...

In my opinion sweet Tyrone can carry a pretty good tune or maybe it is just my motherly love for him?!?

My Husband and I have had Tyrone since he was a puppy and he is now 6 years old... we just found out today that he is a singer!  This has made my day and I am so happy my husband recorded it for me to see!  I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

Happy Blogging!

To My Blogger Buddies!

I am sorry I am not going to be blogging much for the next two months.  It is my [busy] time of year at work, and not to mention the many birthdays and holidays thrown in the mix.  So if you don't see me post as much... it "doesn't mean I don't love you," it just means I will have LOTS of work to share with you when my life is not so crazy.  Happy blogging to you all!

A weekend away with Family to play!

Photo from dogpile.com
My Husband and I will be traveling up to the North Carolina Mountains this weekend for a family event.  It will be lovely to catch up and celebrate with loved ones, especially with the brilliant background of the foliage this time of year.  There is nothing like the Blueridge Mountains in Autumn!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  Happy Blogging!

New Glamour Girl Pallet

This past Summer I worked on another Behr Paint paint project with my wonderful Mentor and friend, Linda Stansbury.  One of the rooms we were assigned to create was the "Glamour Girl" teen room.  From the beginning I was intrigued by the color pallet for this space... I was actually a bit nervous about it because personally I would not pair salmon and red together.

Color Pallet
But I should of know the Color Experts at Behr knew what they were doing because it worked!  It ended up being one of my favorite rooms we created for this project.

Warm up your home for Autumn with this years HOTTEST colors!

Autumn is here and it is the perfect time to start prepping your home to feel warm and cozy for the cool months ahead.  I found some interiors that incorporate this years HOTTEST color pallet and will give your home that comforting feel we all need to get us through the winter.

2011 Color Pallet for Fashion and Design
Use pops of warm colors from accents such as the throw pillows, accent chairs, reclaimed wood table top and flowers seen in this space.
Bring the outdoors inside with pieces of nature that will reflect the current season.  The organic shape from these natural objects (like the tree limb seen here) can be used to add softness to a space ( notice the location of the limb laying on sharp corner in the room).
Lavender hues are a big deal this year!  A lot of times lavender has tendency to come across as a cooler color compared hues such as red, orange or yellow, but I must say this room feels very cozy!  There are a few pops of warm lavender here but most are a cool gray lavender.  What helps this lavender seem warm is the texture of fabrics used to make these items and pairing this color with warm browns, creams and golds.  When using a large amount of one accent color in a room (like the lavender in this one) it is great to add in a little sparkle of a complementary color throughout the space (such as the gold seen here).  To find complementary colors it is always best to go back to basics and reference a color wheel to help you with this process.
Golds, browns and creams are wonderful neutrals to fill a space and a great way to make your home feel toasty.
This space has a wonderful contrast between cool and warm colors.  The walls and fireplace seem stark but the warmth of the furnishings add comfort.  What I like most about this room is it's Flea Market Chic style!

Rowe and Clayton Marcus

This is the most recent project I have completed lately.  Rowe Furniture and Clayton Marcus are great companies to work with, and they let me have lots of fun with photography of their furniture.  I am looking forward to working with them again soon.

Decorating for Autumn

Thus far this week has been quiet which only means it is that time of year again... "the calm before the storm" as my fellow colleagues and I call it.  What I mean by "storm" is the High Point Furniture Market that will start up again at the end of October.  Don't get me wrong... I love the Furniture Market and how I become mesmerize and inspired by all of the beautiful showrooms and displays.  It is post Market that turns my world upside down because this is when ALL of your clients want beautiful photography of their beautiful products and then the "storm" begins.

But for now I am enjoying and making the most of this quite time.  I did some research today about Decorating for Autumn and I want to share my finds.  Hopefully they will give you some ideas about what you can do to give your home that cozy Autumn feeling we all crave this time of year.  Happy Autumn to you all!
